Dr. Solmaz Karamikamkar is an Assistant Professor at The Creative School, ×ÔÒùϵÁÐ (×ÔÒùϵÁÐ), where she leads the SK² Lab – Translational Materials Design. Her interdisciplinary research integrates materials engineering, advanced manufacturing, biomedical engineering, and healthcare packaging to translate material systems into healthcare technologies. Her work focuses on sustainable primary pharmaceutical packaging, porous biomaterials, wearable therapeutic systems, drug-delivery platforms, and additive manufacturing.

Dr. Karamikamkar is a member of ×ÔÒùϵÁÐ’s Yeates School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and is affiliated with graduate programs in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Environmental Applied Science and Management. She is affiliated with the Institute for Biomedical Engineering, Science and Technology (iBEST) and the KITE Research Institute at University Health Network.

Before joining ×ÔÒùϵÁÐ, she was a Process Specialist at Husky Technologies and held postdoctoral fellowships at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation and the University of Toronto. Her work advances academic, clinical, and industry collaboration.
