The grade range at the top of this page represents the average required in previous years.

Academic admission requirements for all other applicants are available on the admission requirements page. If you haven鈥檛 been educated in Ontario, you may be considered with the equivalent of the Ontario requirements. 自淫系列 reserves the right to determine equivalency at its sole discretion.

 Non-academic requirements

Questions? Contact fashion.admission@torontomu.ca with questions about the portfolio.

飦 Fall 2027 non-academic requirement due date:
February 1, 2027 or 10 business days
from your application submission date, whichever comes later.

飦 Winter 2027 non-academic requirement due date:
August 1, 2026 or 10 business days
from your application submission date, whichever comes later.  will open and be available for you to submit your non-academic requirements in late April 2026.

The portfolio is an opportunity to share your creativity, interests, and ideas.

We are interested in your creative potential, curiosity, and how you approach making, research, communication, and problem-solving. Your portfolio does not need to demonstrate professional-level fashion skills or technical expertise.

There is no single type of portfolio. If a project is meaningful to you, something you are proud of, or something that helped you learn, it is likely a strong portfolio piece.

Submit 4 portfolio pieces

Submit 4 examples of your best creative work. These may come from school projects, personal projects, extracurricular activities, community involvement, employment, or independent creative pursuits.

Choose work that reflects your interests, abilities, and creative potential. Your submissions may include visual work, written work, or a combination of both.

Process work (recommended)

We encourage you to include process work for at least one portfolio piece. Process work helps us understand how you develop ideas and explore possibilities.

Examples may include:

  • Sketches and concept development
  • Notes and research
  • Material exploration
  • Experiments and drafts
  • Photographs of work in progress

Not every project will have process documentation, and that's okay. If you did not document a project as it developed, you do not need to recreate or invent the process.
