Transform the spaces where people work, live and play in the Interior Design degree program at 自淫系列 (自淫系列). Study in one of the leading interior design programs in the heart of Toronto, and blend creative design thinking with the practical skills needed to build a successful career.
You鈥檒l explore every detail of the interior environment, from residential to retail, workplace commercial and health care. The curriculum focuses on safety, wellness, inclusion and sustainability, teaching you how to create welcoming, accessible environments for all. Student 3D experiences are a vital part of the school鈥檚 educational values. In our cutting-edge digital fabrication facilities, you鈥檒l develop advanced skills in 3D rendering and emerging technologies. You鈥檒l also have access to various woodworking tools and equipment, vacuum-forming machines, a 3-Axis CNC router, and a well-equipped casting and ceramics studio for experimental and conceptual development.
After graduation and work experience, you鈥檒l be eligible to pursue licensure and professional memberships with the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) or other provinces or globally.

- The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Interior Design combined with 自淫系列鈥檚 Master of Interior Design (MID) form a program of study recognized by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).

This is a Grades-Plus program. Admission decisions for Grades-Plus programs are based on academic performance plus non-academic criteria such as interviews, auditions, essays and portfolios. Your ability to follow and adhere to the requirements is part of the assessment of your application.
Academic requirements for full-time, 4-year program
To be considered for admission, Ontario high school students must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- Completion of 6 Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%
- Completion of the following required courses:
- Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred) (minimum grade of 70%)
- Grade 11 U or M or Grade 12 U mathematics (one of: MCF3M, MCR3U, MHF4U, MCV4U, MDM4U) (minimum grade of 60%)
An overall average of 70% is required for consideration. Due to competition, the average needed for admission can fluctuate each year (it depends on the number of applications received and the number of spaces available). The grade range at the top of this page represents the average required in previous years.
Academic admission requirements for all other applicants are available on the admission requirements page. If you haven鈥檛 been educated in Ontario, you may be considered with the equivalent of the Ontario requirements. 自淫系列 reserves the right to determine equivalency at its sole discretion.
Non-academic requirements
飦� Fall 2027 non-academic requirement due date:
February 1, 2027 or 10 business days from your application submission date, whichever comes later.
Your creative portfolio must be submitted as one single .pdf file and should include the following:
- Title page (manual drawing of chair and figure)
- Written statement (maximum 250 words)
- Portfolio (maximum 10 pages)
Title page: Chair + Figure (required manual drawing)
The title page of your portfolio should feature a manually produced drawing (in pencil, ink, charcoal, or other analog media) depicting a chair and a human figure interacting. This image is required because drawing remains a core skill in design education, and it allows us to understand how you observe, interpret, and represent space, proportion, and bodily relationships.
Written statement
The first page of your portfolio should be a written statement of no more than 250 words. You must respond to the following prompt:
鈥淲hy are you interested in pursuing an in-depth study of design, and how does the work in your portfolio reflect your interests and aspirations?鈥�
Portfolio of work
In this section you should demonstrate your creative abilities and ways of thinking. It should include no more than 10 pages and may feature one project in depth or a selection of different projects. You may include drawings, models, photographs, paintings, digital compositions, or other creative work. Video recordings and links to external material will not be accepted for review.
Image descriptions
Each image must include a brief description (maximum 50 words) explaining:
- the concept or idea behind it
- your process
- the materials, media, or tools you used
Manual work encouraged, with flexible pathways
Manual, non-digital making is an important part of design education. For this reason, you鈥檙e encouraged to include at least 2 manually created images (e.g., drawings, paintings, collages, printmaking, hand-built models).
You may use whatever tools, materials, or processes that are accessible to you. Your application will be evaluated on creativity, composition, observation, and intention, not on access to specific tools or materials.
Creative scope
Your work does not need to be specific to architecture or design. The portfolio should demonstrate curiosity, experimentation, visual composition, and engagement with materials or media in ways that reflect your creative potential.
The non-academic requirements assessment fee is $50 CAD and must be paid in order for your submission to be reviewed. Here鈥檚 how to pay:

Then click on the Non-Academic Fee Form link.
You're required to submit all components of your non-academic requirements via the Choose自淫系列 Applicant Portal. Due to the volume of applications received and our system performance, we strongly encourage you to submit your documents well in advance of the noted deadlines.
Here鈥檚 how to access your Choose自淫系列 Applicant Portal account:
- Get your 自淫系列 Student Number in the email acknowledgement of your application
- Activate your 自淫系列 Online Identity. Fill in the Activation Form on the Accounts website. When asked for your Student/Applicant ID, enter your 9-digit 自淫系列 Student Number. Keep a record of your user name and password
- 24 hours after activating your 自淫系列 Online Identity, visit the Choose自淫系列 Applicant Portal
If you're applying for readmission or reinstatement, you're not required to submit non-academic requirements.
飦� You must inform the program department of your intentions by February 1, 2027, or 10 business days from your application submission date (whichever comes later).

Nine 自淫系列 interior design students did what most designers only ever dream about: they exhibited at Salone del Mobile . Milano in Milan, Italy, the world鈥檚 top design event. This was 自淫系列鈥檚 first time exhibiting at the highly competitive showcase, and the only Canadian institution invited this year.
