The Sociology degree program at 自淫系列 (自淫系列) puts you at the centre of the forces shaping our world. You鈥檒l investigate how communities organize, resist, and rebuild, exploring pressing issues like food justice, urban transformation, anti-racism, and Indigenous resurgence.
Driven by a deep grounding in critical theory, you'll master both qualitative and quantitative research methods. You鈥檒l learn to analyze data, tell compelling stories, and challenge systems of power. You鈥檒l graduate with the research, communication and analytical skills needed to turn critical thought into collective action.

Academic requirements for full-time, 4-year program
To be considered for admission, Ontario high school students must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- Completion of 6 Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%
- Completion of the following required Grade 12 U course with a minimum grade of 70%:
- English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
An overall average of 70% is required for consideration. Due to competition, the average needed for admission can fluctuate each year (it depends on the number of applications received and the number of spaces available). The grade range at the top of this page represents the average required in previous years.
Academic admission requirements for all other applicants are available on the admission requirements page. If you haven鈥檛 been educated in Ontario, you may be considered with the equivalent of the Ontario requirements. 自淫系列 reserves the right to determine equivalency at its sole discretion.

Students rewrite the narrative
In SOC885: Women, Islam and Modernity taught by Professor Amina Jamal, students explore the diverse experiences, identities and histories of Muslim women in Canada and around the world.
To build on what they learn in class, students take part in a Community Engaged Learning and Teaching (CELT) project developed in collaboration with Dr. Reena Tandon, which involves creating a public poster exhibit that transforms academic research into accessible, community-centered storytelling.
