Mature students
Your application will first be assessed to determine if you meet our general requirements from high school. If we determine that you don鈥檛 meet these requirements, we will see if you are eligible for admission as a mature student.
Mature student eligibility
- You鈥檙e at least 21 years of age by December 31 of the year in which you will begin your studies
- You鈥檝e been away from formal education for at least 2 years
- You鈥檙e a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a protected person/convention refugee or refugee claimant
- You鈥檝e completed the prerequisite subjects for the program and achieved the required grades (typically 70% or higher). You can find the prerequisite subjects on the program page
Keep in mind that your complete academic history (including studies at university or college) will be considered during the selection process. Mature student eligibility doesn鈥檛 apply to formal pathway programs.
You may be required to present grades above the minimums. To determine the admission average, grades in prerequisite subjects will be averaged. The competitive average required for admission varies by program.
